about me

I grew up in a suburb of New York City, went to college in a suburb of Chicago, lived for a few months in a suburb of San Francisco, and then finally made it to the city in 2001. I like it here a lot, so I haven't left.

Currently I'm working as an economic development planner for the City of San Francisco. I focus on neighborhood economic development, managing programs that provide support to small business owners and empower residents, merchants, and other community stakeholders to improve their communities.

From 2008-2010 I completed a Master of City Planning degree at UC Berkeley. My projects there included a paper on Urban Renewal and its aftermath in my neighborhood (pdf), an asset map for green economic development in the East Bay, and an economic development needs assessment for the city of San Francisco.

I travel by bicycle whenever possible, play the banjo and other stringed instruments, read novels and magazines, and picnic often. I have a great family and wonderful friends, for whom I am very thankful. I hope to continue having as much fun as I've been having so far, and to enjoy a career in which I help make people's lives a little better.
